If you've ever wondered what it's like to enter a paint-splashed artist's studio and watch creative processes unfold, you'll definitely want to check out the 2017 Samford and Surrounds Arts Trail and Open Studios .

Now in its third year, the Samford and Surrounds Arts Trail and Open Studios is an initiative of Creative Samford Inc. The event offers exciting opportunities to watch local artists at work in their own inspirational environments when they open their studios or shared spaces between 10am and 4pm each weekend for the month of June.


During this month-long event, visitors can explore Samford's breathtaking rural surrounds, sample a range of cafes, parks and local attractions, and discover locally-produced artwork, including visual art, sculpture, textiles, and multimedia pieces.

Visitors to the 2017 are encouraged to make a weekend of it, by spending a day or two visiting Samford and surrounds, from Dayboro to Mt Glorious. The Samford Museum could also occupy a spot on your itinerary.


More than 30 individual artists and local community galleries will throw open their doors and offer works for sale in this 'green change' suburb in Brisbane's north west. Artists will have the opportunity to share, swap and showcase their skills, secure some new commissions, and perhaps get their work out to a new generation of collectors.



Studio location maps and artist profiles will be available at a range of locations following the free launch event on Friday 5 May. Commencing at 6.30pm in the Community Hall on School Road, Samford, the launch event will feature opportunities to meet the artists, view a gallery of small artworks created specially for the event, and participate in the creation of a group work.
