See a movie, go to markets and hear live music all in one
This is going to be a fabulous evening of entertainment with funky live music, twilight markets and gourmet food. At the Samford Music Under the Stars, you can eat to your heart's content!

This celebration of Samford's gourmet foods, locally crafted products and privileged lifestyle is on Saturday 16th February, from 4.30 pm until 7.30 pm at the John Scott Park, Main Street, Samford.

The very popular band the RedTie Band will be there performing hits from Elvis, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Bruno Mars and heaps more.

They will be joined during the afternoon by Mt Nebo's own a cappella ensemble, Peace 'n' Choir. This choir has been going now for over 15 years and the choir has grown to include members from the surrounding areas including the Samford Valley and Brisbane suburbs.

They are a community choir that welcomes everyone! They, therefore, do not hold auditions as they maintain that everyone can sing and can contribute to the group.

Their music comes from varied vocal and cultural traditions as well as some contemporary music. They are regular performers at Mt Nebo events as well as other festivals throughout South East Queensland. They are a very diverse group from all walks of life.

As well as these, there will also be Johanna and Jayden, an acoustic duo. Johanna & Jayden are a Brisbane and Sunshine Coast-based couple and music duo who play upbeat and quaint music and they are also very popular. They have been singing together since 2014 and they experiment with different instruments and musical styles. Some of the styles they produce are jazz, soul, folk, pop and blues and they incorporate these styles into their live performances. Their music is cheerful and creates a lively atmosphere wherever they perform.

They are both qualified artists with Bachelor of Music degrees and they are currently concentrating on writing their own music.

As well as entertainment, you will also be able to do some shopping at the twilight markets. At these markets, you can wander around and see products like pottery to macrame, leather articles and many fair trade handmade items.

You could bring along a picnic blanket, relax and buy some of the gourmet food on offer. These will include cheese and meat platters and locally made ice creams. If you want a more substantial meal, there are plenty of restaurants and cafes in the surrounding streets of Samford and this will be a perfect opportunity to try one of these or go back to your favourite one.

This night will be the perfect one for families and friends. Samford Music Under the Stars is presented by Moreton Bay Regional Council and supported by Councillor Darren Grimwade.
