LOCATION: SAMFORD. An easy 20 to 40 minutes drive northwest from Brisbane CBD depending on traffic and time of day.

is located at the far end of the village on the right in Main Street.

Rainforest trees semi hide this original historic house but it is a magic romantic entrance to the reception area of the restaurant. Once inside, displayed is several items of Samford's history.
The restaurant is owned and run by Chef Steve Cowley.

Steve has over the years created top dishes for top people in politics, entertainment and wedding receptions as well as food feeders out for the day or evening.

A licensed bar is available with a good selection of cold beers and spirits.

The restaurant has a large seating capacity indoors and an outside gazebo area surrounded with rainforest trees.

The Rainforest garden overlooks a stream with lizards and turtles taking life easy.

The menu is mouth watering and boasts a large selection of delights to tickle the palate.

Dining can be both indoor and Steve has a great takeaway menu. Prices are very reasonable for the high quality presentations.

My wife and I found this Samford gem on Saturday 20 April at lunchtime. Steve was happy to tell us of the history of the Homestead and give us a guided tour. After a cold beer at the bar we ordered Chicken Schnitzel which was served with honey mustard sauce and vegetables.

Presentation was lovely and the food was yummy and served on hot plates which for me is very important. The chicken was a full large breast coated in a crispy coating and so tender. The honey mustard sauce was the best I have had anywhere. The vegetables were plenty and cooked to perfection. Very fair price $18.95.

The Homestead Restaurant caters for weddings. A perfect surround which on cold days or nights a central wood fire is a great area to get warm.

We will return maybe during the week to sample each day of the week's taste sensations.

Mondays: Gourmet Pies Accompanied with homestead mash, seasonal vegies, and homemade sauce $15.95.

Tuesdays: Chicken Snitzel. Served with home-style mustard.
$16.95.

Wednesdays: Gourmet Burgers, Chicken or Aussie beef. $10.00

Thursdays: Pasta. Homemade pasta dishes in a variety of styles. Carbonara, Alfredo, Marinara, Napolitano and many more. $19.95
