A fascinating festival - needs to be seen to be believed
Each year, South Australian Miniature Enthusiasts (SAME) runs a Miniatures & Dollhouse Fair in Adelaide. There are some exquisite tiny dollhouses and many other things with the detail and workmanship being incredible! If you have never seen these, it is a well worthwhile event. There will also be demonstrations of different techniques for making miniature products, raffles, lucky dips and food to be bought.
Imagine the patience to work on figurines, furniture and dollhouses that are just inches tall! It takes skill, as well as a lot of patience to create these amazing miniatures!
A lovely Christmas miniature
You can spend hours walking around the sale area, as each time you retrace your steps, there is another treasure you could find amongst these bargain treasures.
Lazy day on the front verandah
With not many retail outlets left in Adelaide, it would be a great place to begin your Christmas shopping with so many things to choose from.
You may even find something to decorate your tree!
You will be able to see what is for sale and see these tiny fun things on either the 11th or 12th August, 2018. It will be held at the Thebarton Community Centre, Corner of South Road and Ashwin Parade, Torrensville. The event will open at 10.00 am and close at 4.30 pm.
As there are no Eftpos machines on the premises, you will need to make sure you bring cash along, as many vendors and the ticket sellers do not have credit card facilities.

Parking at this event is free!
This will be the 33rd annual Festival of Dollhouses and Miniatures, and one that will be both enchanting and intriguing. It is described as "an interesting and cute exhibition of dollhouses and scale miniatures".
Delightful beach house miniature
As well as this there will be market stalls, demonstrations and prizes to be won! You will be able to see and speak to some local artists and hobbyists. Why, you could even start a new hobby yourself, provided you are very patient and creative!
Attending the ball
This fair is run by the SAME with stallholders displaying their creations from right around Australia. The 2018 theme of the fair is, "international" as well as "then and now". There will, however, and as always, be many other exhibits presented for your enjoyment.
Anyone for a devonshire tea?
Funds collected from this fair go to keeping the club and festival running. If there are any leftover funds, they then go to a children's charity. Please come along and bring your friends to this great Event!
