Sambal Kampung is a Malaysian restaurant. There are two Sambal Kampungs in Melbourne. There is one in the City and the other one is on Edgewater Boulevard in Maribynong.

Last Saturday I went to the one in Maribynong with a friend seeing as we both live near there.

There was a lovely, honest lady serving us. She said that she was new to the place.

The menu is huge and everything here caters to the student budget and taste. They do have EFTPOS but you do need to spend at least $20. Most of the mains were under $10 with some of them being between $15-$25. There wasn't a whole lot of non alcoholic drinks but there was a whole lot of cocktails on offer.

I had the three coloured drink ($4) which was sub par, but the Malaysian food made up for it. Here we sampled the Lor Bak ($8).

We also sampled Nasi Goreng ($10), roti ($4) and my favourite Char Kuey Teow ($10). I loved the Char Kuey Teow and the roti. The roti had the right amount of flakiness and the Char Kuey Teow had the right amount of wok hei.

I would love to visit again to sample more of their food.
