Sam Garlepp charms with funny songs and sharp jokes
Overall rating: ★★★1/2

Victorian boy Sam Garlepp is… Pretty/Funny. The young comedian slash writer slash actor is currently hosting a show on Triple M's national digital radio and bartending at his local RSL. After performing and writing shows at home and abroad, including the Edinburgh Fringe most recently, Sam is back at the Adelaide Fringe Festival with his newest stand-up show 'Pretty/Funny'.

Sam escorts every attendee to their seat at The National Wine Centre, a venue he describes as 'fancy AF'. Although there's no clear projection for the show, Sam's engagement with audience members and self-deprecating humour keeps the audience laughing throughout. Sam is quick to make on-the-spot quips about the intimate natthe ure of show and makes clever apologies for jokes that seem to go too far.

Sam pulls out a guitar he'd won in a raffle to wow us with a few clever parodies of well-known hits and TV theme songs. His fun conversational style makes light of topics like awkward dates, living with housemates and millennial trends.

My personal favourite was his comments on the time passer bys called him pretty boy and threw a milkshake at him out their car. His response: if only they had followed it up with something pleasant like free tickets to Mamma Mia.

Make sure to snap up your last chance to see Sam Garlepp in Pretty/Funny during the Adelaide Fringe tonight! If you've already got plans, then head over to his Facebook to see funny sketches and information on future events.
