Salvation Jane, or Patersons Curse is an invasive plant (weed) that is common throughout South Australia's mid-north. Originally introduced as a plant that would provide feed to grazing stock during the harsher climates, this weed has spread profusely much to the detriment of many other plants.

During spring and summer it is common to see fields of purple as the Salvation Jane spreads widely.
