Thrift Shop Sign
The Boronia Thrift Shop opened its doors back in 2012 when the Salvation Army in Boronia refurbished an old house on their property at 2 Liverpool Road, cnr Mountain Highway, after a lot of work in preparation.
Things have run merrily along since that time and now the SA has broadened its Thrift Shop horizons and moved into larger premises on the ground floor, within the two story brick building that houses other departments of the SA Boronia. One large area plus another room off to one side, now houses the bigger Thrift Shop. Still at the same address, but bigger and better.

Be ready to fossick and rummage around for an hour or more, because like me, you'll find some wonderful bargains. Blankets for the colder nights, and to put on the back seat of your car, and fancy cushions to make a room a conversation piece. Books for Mum and Dad as well as in the second room a ton of books for 50 cents each.

I bought myself a lovely Sheridan double bedspread in a floral pattern which is reversible. It cost me $2. There are Bed Sheet sets with two pillowcases. The red one that took my eye would be ideal to make into a summer sarong and for $2 who could beat that?

At one end of the large room, you'll find a "Comfy Corner" of two sofas and some chairs (these aren't for sale). This area is where tired Mums and Dads can have a sit down and while away an hour or two while the kids get busy choosing some books of their own, as well as toys.
