The Gem at Emerald Beach
I'd just seen a photo of the beach, which lured me into convincing the family we needed to head up to Emerald Beach for lunch. As we caught sight of the restaurant, my partner said "It looks a little too formal for us", referring to the kids in boardies.
The menu had a tempting truffle infused risotto or pork belly with figs and scallops. I'm sorry for you that we only ordered the burgers, because as we watched the beautifully presented food make its way to nearby tables, it was hard to resist the temptation to take some photos.
The kids fish and chips was an equally huge success and the adults and children alike were very happy with the excursion. The cool playlist was switched to a live musician for the Sunday afternoon chill session, just as I was finishing my herbal infusion, and unfortunately, the lure of the beach proved too strong for us to stay and enjoy that.
If you are in Coffs Harbour, this is a must dine experience. Whether you are after sophisticated dining or a low key breakfast, Saltwater Café and Restaurant has it all, and views that will dazzle you. There is a wall of awards, and I have little doubt they are all well deserved. From the frangipani in the bathroom to the tasty offering on the plate in front of you, it is a faultless experience.
