Growing up, all my knowledge of Mexican food came from the jars of Old El Paso Taco Sauce mum used when in need of a quick meal option. It's sad to say that I don't think that's so unusual. In my opinion, Mexican food has never achieved the same popularity here as other international cuisines such as sushi or butter chicken. Even though I love raw salmon with all my heart, I had decided Aussies were really missing out. Thankfully, this is not the case anymore.
Salsa's, the 'fresh Mex grill' established in Victoria, has made its way to the Sunshine State and found a home in Westfield Garden City. Don't be fooled by the fact that it falls under the 'fast food' category, their food is anything but the typical greasy kind you expect to find in a shopping centre food court that caters mostly to High School kids. The salad and veggies are fresh, the food is made to order and everything tastes great. The serves are also huge; I struggled bravely through my Beef & Guaca Burrito (which I highly recommend by the way) but still had some scraps to take home for the dog.

The menu features everything you would expect; burritos, tacos (soft and hard-shelled), quesadillas, nachos and bowls, which are pretty much the same as a burrito but served in their namesake with a side of corn chips.
You can also find Salsa's at Robina and Pacific Fair.
