There is a billboard on the edge of town stating that this restaurant is the local's favourite, and given it was also recommended to us by two people, that could be true.
The building is a beautiful 'Queenslander', with views out to the sea, and over looking the historic St Mary's by the Sea chapel (built in the 1880's).
We opted for the Salt & Szechuan pepper squid with ruby grapefruit, snowpea shoots and Vietnamese mint. This is cooked well, with the squid tender and not too much batter.
The Sticky Berkshire pork belly, with a liquorice glaze, served with huge tiger prawn dumplings and an Asian salad. The pork itself is very small, but the delicious dumplings were filling.
However, these dishes need a side order as well, or dessert, if you are a hearty eater like myself.
The kids meals included Tempura coral trout, with chips and the ever popular calamari and chips.
The views are lovely on a sunny day, and it was busy with walk ins for lunch on the day we went. I recommend making a booking for dinner, as I suspect it is a busy little establishment at night.
