Classy and cozy but definitely not quiet on a Monday night, Salmontini gives you an open sushi and sashimi bar. Exclusive for this day of the week, the non-stop tummy filling is allowed, all for the price of 170 dirhams, which is not bad given the menu options.

Secluded in the more upscale corner at the Mall of Emirates, Salmontini is casual and chic. Its warm and cozy atmosphere is intensified by the white glow from the indoor Ski Dubai. Also, its proximity to the hotel location gives its guests the opportunity to try some wine with their sushi or their choice of drink to cool down that wasabi.

The intimate, romantic feel of the restaurant is alluring with its closely set tables and sophisticated paintings of mingling party-goers. The service is also pleasant and so are the portions. When Salmontini says open buffet, they mean it.

An appetizer of edimame was ordered as an extra and was not salted enough, to my dislike. Yet everything else came on a large wooden board with enough variety to entice sushi and sashimi lovers. Not only is the presentation superb but it is all there. Whether you are into sesame sprinkled, avocado filled, sashimi clad, fried chicken or plain mayo smothered crab sushi (my favorite) you're in for a treat. The best part about it is that if you're still hungry, you can order more.

Recommended? Sure thing.
