A Full Weekend of Fun
First visualised as part of the City of Salisbury City Centre Renewal Strategy 2012, the Salisbury Community Hub will officially open over the weekend of 30 November and 1 December 2019, with an exciting weekend of family activities, food and entertainment.
Marking the beginning of a new chapter and creating a new social heart for Salisbury, the Hub will provide flexible community spaces in a modern and contemporary facility with civic spaces, a gallery, learning and information facilities, council chambers and office space.
On Saturday, the Salisbury Community Christmas Parade will give everyone the opportunity to wave to Santa and all participants as they travel from Pioneer Park on Commercial Road, down John Street, onto Gawler Street and finish near the Hoyts Cinemas. There will also be a smoking ceremony and multicultural performance, musical acts including Local Revolution, Michaela Jenke and the Three Amigos plus 1. Santa's Cave will be open for all to enjoy, along with a lego freeplay and colouring station, Hub tours, eSports featuring Smash Bros and Mario Kart, 3D printing exhibition, hologram display and roving entertainment. Take a seat and enjoy The Greatest Showman on the large outdoor movie screen.
If Saturday doesn't wear you out, on Sunday enjoy the Salisbury Christmas Markets, roving performers, performances by Burundian Drummers SA, Salisbury City Band and the Para Hills Brass Band. There will be Christmas carols, the Mayor's story session, virtual reality with VIVE pro eye, coding, robotics and Micro:Bit taster sessions, Hub tours and of course the lego freeplay and colouring station.
