In the words of a fellow dinner "Don't eat breakfast or lunch before you go."

Farid Bahrami's Salang is a new Afghan restaurant in the outer eastern suburb of Dandenong.

With an extensive Afghan cuisine menu and excellent facilities, this is one dining experience worth breaking your diet for. The restaurant seats 120 and is impressively lit and well set out, complete with a wide screen television.

The menu includes Afghan breads, chicken and lamb dishes and of course, side dishes and desserts, all cooked fresh to order by Mr Bahrami's wife.

Enjoy all the tasty Afghan food you can handle with the banquet option. Priced to please at $35- $40 per head. The banquet includes Afghan garlic breads, dips, kebabs, dumplings, orange and qabuli rice, Greek salad, coffee/tea, sweets and corkage.

Individual meals prices vary from $3 for entrees, up to $18 for a main. Eat in, take away, catering, B.Y.O. Open for dinner 7 days and for lunch from Tuesday to Sunday.

If you love Afghan, then you have got to try Salang - just remember to wear your loosest jeans and don't eat lunch or breaky.
