Sakura Kaiten Sushi Train Restaurant

Home > Melbourne > Restaurants |
Published May 8th 2011
Sushi train restaurants in Melbourne are few and far between, and can be difficult to locate. This one is no exception. Sakura Kaiten Sushi is located along Little Collins Street in Melbourne, and if it weren't for the subtle red lighting out the front of the narrow doorway, you might miss it completely. This one is definitely worth finding.

The restaurant consists mostly of a long narrow sushi train with seating all around it. Fear not, if this doesn't sound appealing to you, there are a few cosy tables that you can sit around as well. The plates come around the conveyor belt and half the fun is trying to guess what things are (although there are some labels to help with this).

There is also a menu that you can order off if the idea of grabbing food that has gone around the train, sometimes several times, does not appeal to you. It is worth stepping outside of your comfort zone and choosing something that you may usually go past. Whatever you eat, be sure not to miss out on the amazing miso soup, and Japanese beers.
