Get in quick
Keen to escape the office for a decent lunch (as in one that isn't a sandwich over your keyboard)? Saké Restaurant & Bar has just launched their new 'Quick Sticks' Express Lunch for those looking for something stylish but fast.
Looking for something quick and tasty? Sake has launched their new quick sticks menu for lunch. Image:The Ideas Library
The Quick Sticks menu is now available at Melbourne's Saké Restaurant & Bar at Hamer Hall as well as the Flinders Lane locations and allows you to order from a special menu designed to have you out in a flash. It's absolutely ideal of your seeing a matinee show at Hamer Hall or have only an hour for lunch and want something that's sophisticated but won't have you out all afternoon.
We tried out the $40 per person menu designed for 40 minutes and it was exactly that. The menu allows you to choose 2 courses (an entree and a main) and if you're keen you can also add on $8 for a glass of selected wine or a craft beer.
The menu offers two options for entrée and main, also served with a very generous sized salad and rice.

As a table of two (and if you're the type who is keen to try a little bit of everything, you can each choose a different entree and main and get to sample the whole lot. With a generous portion size, you certainly won't leave hungry.

The second entree option, nasu dengaku is a half eggplant baked with miso and spice (pictured above). For mains, diners can choose from mixed vegetable tempura (pictured above at top) or the chicken teriyaki with bok choy and king mushroom (below).

If you're pressed even further for time, they also do a $30 per person for a 30 minute express lunch with a menu designed for 2 to share and including items such as the prawn shumai and chicken teriyaki (both above) as well as peninsula squid tempura served with coriander, Spanish onion, ponzu and chilli.
Lunch time diners are also welcome to order from the standard menu of course, but if you're in a rush (or even if you're not and you simply want a nice lunch option without taking time from work), this is a seriously tasty option.
The menu will vary slightly based on your location. We chose Flinders Lane, but check the website for the Hamer Hall menu or any other Sake location in Sydney as well as Brisbane.
