Sail away - literally - from the Port Douglas marina on their luxury sailing catamaran and take in the vista of the Daintree rainforest as it cascades to the sandy beaches and waters of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.

Soon we are donned in our snorkelling gear and heading out over the living reef and gazing down on the colours of marine life and the reef itself. We are divided into groups of ability and fitness and guided out over the reef by our knowledgeable guides, who describe the sights beneath the crystal-clear waters.

Back on Low Isle, a Sailaway guide takes us on a short tour of this small sand isle with its heritage-listed lighthouse and rich history. Returning to the catamaran, we are rewarded with a hearty buffet lunch, full of salads, prawns and a selection of meats, followed by a platter of seasonal fruit.

Daintree tea and coffee are available and soft drinks can be bought along with wine and beer for those that have completed the snorkelling.

Another opportunity provides for snorkelling from the boat to again swim over the reef and marvel at its colourful beauty. Time to enjoy one last view over the Low Isles as we head back to Port Douglas with perhaps a celebratory glass to an amazing day and enjoying again the magnificent Daintree landscape.
