is a restaurant located at O'Connell Street in North Adelaide that serves Vietnamese and Chinese cuisine. Parking around the restaurant is limited so it is recommended to arrive early to ensure you can find a place to park. Apart from the one located at North Adelaide, they also have a second branch located at Kilburn. We discovered through the Entertainment Book.

The dishes that we ordered during our visit to the North Adelaide branch were steamed fish fillet, sizzling beef and the sizzling basil sauce stir fry made with tofu. The sizzling beef had thin slices of beef and vegetables that were perfectly cooked and the Vietnamese sauce complemented it perfectly.

The portion of the fish in the steamed fish fillet was very generous and it came accompanied by a soy sauce based sauce and topped with slices of ginger and spring onion. The fish was steamed just right and the sauce, ginger and spring onions helped to bring out its flavour. Based on the menu descriptions, the sauce used for this dish appears similar to the one used in the steamed barramundi. However, this dish does not need a minimum wait time of at least 30 minutes.

Similar to other restaurants like this, Saigon Gate offers various types of stir fried dishes that can be made with a variety of ingredients. We decided to order tofu stir fried in the sizzling basil sauce in order to balance out the two meat dishes. Both the tofu and vegetables were cooked perfectly and the cashew nuts gave it a bit of crunch. The basil sauce also complemented the ingredients nicely.
