Part of the same complex where
Angel Thai is located, Saigon Food is where you can enjoy both authentic and fusion Vietnamese cuisine. Service was quite efficient, with our dishes not taking long to arrive after we have placed our order.
The pork chop in the Pork Chop on Steamed Rice had tender flesh and was cooked sufficiently to give them a nice golden-brown colour. It was also cut slightly to simplify the task of eating it. Accompanying the pork chop were slices of cucumber, pickled vegetables and nuoc cham sauce to dip the pork chop in.

We liked that the slices of beef in the Stir-fried Beef Vietnamese Salad were not too tough. The seasoning gave them a delectable sweet-savoury flavour. The shredded vegetables of the salad were crisp and fresh and a scattering of fried shallots added a bit of crunch. While nuoc cham sauce came with the dish, it is advisable to taste the salad before adding it as it may be flavoursome enough as is.

The portion size of the Spicy Beef & Pork Noodle Soup was quite generous. The slices of pork were very tender and the slices of beef provided a bit of contrast with their firmer texture. For those concerned about the degree of spiciness of the broth, it was not too overpowering. Beansprouts, Asian herbs, shredded lettuce, chilli and a lime wedge came with the dish for extra flavour and texture.

Their Roasted Pork Crackling Vietnamese Salad had slices of roasted pork with succulent flesh that was set off wonderfully by the crisp crackling. The slices were also of a sufficient size to make eating the dish a satisfying experience. The nuoc cham dressing gave the dish a delectable tangy taste and ensured it was not too dry.

While it may not look like it at first, their Lemongrass Chicken on Steamed Rice had enough chicken to make it a filling meal. The chicken was cooked just right and had enough lemongrass flavour to make it well deserving of its name. Aside from cucumber and pickled vegetables, the dish also had a generous sprinkling of fried shallots to provide a crunchy element to the dish.

Great as a snack or a side dish, their Fried Chicken Wings had juicy flesh that was contrasted wonderfully by the crisp batter coating. It was also dusted lightly with a spice mix to provide a hint of a spiced flavour. Eating them slowly is advised as it is served to you steaming hot.

The restaurant is fairly small in size and the décor gave it a casual feel. Parking is not a problem as the on-site carpark provides convenient off-street parking.
