Located along Days Road in Ferryden Park, Sai Gon Pho and Vietnamese Meat Rolls is where you can enjoy a good variety of Vietnamese food. The dishes offered consist of dishes ideal for takeaway and bigger dishes suitable for a sit-in meal.
A dish commonly offered at Vietnamese restaurants in Adelaide, the Pork Chop with Rice had pork chop that was cooked just right with the degree of charred flavour that we liked. Cucumber and tomato slices provided freshness and the pickled vegetables were not too tangy. A light scattering of fried shallots added a crunchy element. Served with the dish is a bowl of soup and nuoc chum dipping sauce.

Their Combination Pho featured fresh slices of beef, cooked beef, beef brisket and beef meatballs. The beef brisket was tender and was contrasted with the firmer cooked beef. The meatballs were not too chewy, and the broth ‘cooked’ the fresh slices of beef nicely. The broth had a nice degree of spiced flavour and was served hot. Slices of onion and spring onion provided extra flavour. As expected, bean sprouts, Asian herbs and a lemon wedge came with the dish for diners to add to the broth if they desire.

The portion size of the Grilled Chicken Bun Bowl is generous and can easily be shared. The pieces of grilled chicken were juicy and the skin had a nice char. The vegetables were crisp and fresh, though the raw taste of the beansprouts can be a bit off-putting for some tastes. We were able to have the vermicelli rice noodles omitted. Completing the dish were pickled vegetables and nuoc chum dressing to give the dish a tangy flavour.

Their Combination Banh Mi consisted of roast pork, grilled chicken and BBQ pork. The roast pork was juicy with crisp crackling, and the BBQ pork was not too tough. The grilled chicken was moist with a good amount of flavour. The cucumber had a nice bite to it and the pickled vegetables added a hint of tanginess.

While not a normal part of their menu, we were able to have a Banh Mi with a meatball filling. The meatballs were juicy and flavoursome, and there was enough of it to make eating the dish satisfying. Shredded lettuce provided freshness and crispiness, and the red onion did not taste too strong. Chilli can be added to their Banh Mi but be aware that it has a potent spicy kick.

Along with Vietnamese food, the restaurant offers a few savoury and sweet Western pastries. The restaurant was roomy and customers have the choice between indoor and outdoor seating.
