Your new fave Italian go-to destination
Malvern's Glenferrie Road is ready to be your destination of choice this summer with Italian eatery Sagra serving up cocktails and delicious eats downstairs in its dining room as well as a rooftop bar, where you'll want to spend your evenings watching the sun go down.

Sagra offers so much in one space with its dining room full of eclectic and colourful wall art and a modern Italian menu on the ground floor. Also on the ground level, a decent sized Italian inspired deli means you can pretty much head to the back and buy all the ingredients you'll need to serve up your own Italian feast. There's even a small selection of Italian wines to choose from as well.

An ideal spot to celebrate a special occasion or just a date night out, Sagra's portions are generously sized ensuring you won't leave hungry.

We tried the tasting platter for two, packed full of cured meats, cheeses, olives, and so much more.

On the menu, you'll find the traditional pastas and risottos, as well as some hearty mains including a free range pork chop marinated in maple syrup, soy sauce and herbs, served with rainbow chard, heirloom carrots and toasted macadamia (below.)

Also on the menu and equally delicious was josper roasted, organic fed duck served with a risotto of roasted chestnuts and barley with witlof salad and a roasted duck and cassis jus (below).

Head up to level one and you'll find an art gallery with an ever-changing list of artist shows on offer (check the website for the latest shows). Level one also has the Race furniture gallery, which is exclusive to Sagra.

It's the rooftop however that will be the welcome treat for the coming warmer months as Sagra's rooftop bar will be an ideal spot to sip Aperol Sprti, Negroni or prosecco and enjoy the bar menu. There's even grappe on offer as well as a range of Italian wines, beer, cider and more.

The rooftop space is a great spot for a private event or celebration or even an ideal spot for spending some time with a few nibbles from the aperitivo menu or a cheese and salumi board for two. Keep this one in mind for the upcoming summer months!
