A mezze house in the Kingston shops,
Saffron Restaurant serves up colourful tasty food that is designed to share. The flavours of Lebanon, Morocco, Greece and Turkey are infused with the spices of golden saffron and zesty lemony sumac. The
Azize brothers have won several awards over the years for their restaurant which showcases the flavours of the countries of their ancestral homeland.
The menu is full of interesting tasty
entree and
main dishes but we opted for the great value $39 per head
banquet in order to taste a variety of foods. The service was impeccable and friendly and the food was lovely, well-cooked, tasty and full of fresh flavours.
They are fully licensed with an extensive drinks list but you are welcome to BYO wine at $10 per bottle corkage. There is also a
children's menu and there are dishes suitable for vegetarians on the menu.
Although we had more than enough to eat, we did not regret our choice of homemade baklava for
dessert . It was soft and lightly flavoured with honey but not overly sweet and was served with halva, Turkish delight and Persian fairy floss and a perfect complement to our meal.
Saffron restaurant will cater for events from small scale takeaway to full-service large events, just call to discuss requirements and costs. They also have a takeaway service and you can book online via TheFork or direct (which is necessary due to COVID-19 as is the QR check-in).
Take your taste buds on a trip to the Middle East at Saffron restaurant Kingston.
