Yes, you guessed it; it is yet another Nicholas Sparks motion picture landing once again on our doorstep!

Now I could probably guess what is on all your minds at this point; Nicholas Spark's: writer of The Notebook, The Lucky One, Dear John, A Walk to Remember and The Last Song means that Safe Haven is more likely than not going to be yet another surefire lovey dovey romantic based chick flick hitting our big screens in February.

But be sure to read on before you let your assumptions rule your thoughts!

Just like every other film on his list of box office hits, Safe Haven is of course another must see. All you hopelessly romantic comrades out there, this is certainly the film for you but Nicholas hasn't excluded all his action and comedy loving pals either with a thrilling and darker story-line for this one that is a wee bit out of character.

It strays away from the conventional love story that we as viewers have become so accustomed to in Spark's past flicks. It is an unpredictably gripping, sad yet funny love story all at the same time and just when you think you've got the plot all figured out, it will proudly prove you wrong with its clever twist incorporated right at the very end.

The story revolves around Katie who is new to Southport, North Carolina and after some time begins to find a very unique connection to Alex; a widowed store-owner with two young children of his own. But Katie carries a dark history and a secret alluding to her traumatic past begins to unfold, thus spilling over into her newly established life in Southport. The relationships formed and friendships made will be at risk. The reason behind Katie's aloofness and distant behaviour is justified with the unexpected twist that viewer's encounter in the closing scenes.

It will take you on an emotional roller-coaster ride with its flawless mix of love, sadness, suspense, comedy and action.

So for all the guys out there, don't be hesitant to check this one out with your sweetie. And for the girls, I have confidence that this will be another film to reach the best top 10 chick flicks of all time on your lists. Sure, it is still classified as a chick flick ,but it is not your typical boy meets girl kind of love story. It ticks all the right boxes and is by far Nicholas Spark's best film to date.
