So many places! Depending on the time of year when you visit Dubai (try not to visit during summer time because your outdoor choices will be very limited), I like bringing my kids to Safa Park.

covers about 64 hectares of land, 80% of which is grass. It is located in Jumeirah 1 and can be accessed from Al Wasl Road, Al Hadiqa Street, and 55th Street. Entrance ticket for adults and children above 2 years old is Dhs. 3.00 (less than US $ 1.00).

Come early morning when kids are at school and parents are at work and you'll find this huge park almost to yourself and a few moms with their children. Bring a picnic and a mat as you can be in this park for hours. You can relax under the shade of many trees. There is also a barbecue area if you fancy cooked breakfast.

Or if you are like me who can't be bothered carrying a basket of food besides my children's change of clothes/nappy and milk, there is a cafeteria inside the park serving hot and cold drinks and meal.

There are children's play area in different parts of the park, and a huge grass lawns to run around.

There is a paid play area with bouncy castles and children's rides. Or you can hop in a train that goes around the whole vicinity of Safa Park.

Coming with older children? Then why not rent a byky for single, twin or family seaters that can ride up to 4 family members?

There is one last activity you can do at without even going inside the park itself: exercise! A fast walk around the rubberised outskirt of while pushing my toddler in a pram takes me about 40 minutes.

Enjoy your holidays in Dubai!
