Find me a child who doesn't enjoy a treasure hunt, and I will show you one who enjoys the rich flavour of pork pies.

In the coming April school holidays there is the chance for primary school children aged between 9-11 to join a free treasure hunt in the city. Now who can resist that?

The hunt is hosted by SACOME and sponsored by RESA, in association with the University of Adelaide, SA Museum, DMITRE, Adelaide Festival Centre and the Gemmological Society of Australia.

The educational and interactive treasure hunt will be a discovery trail delving deep into the world of crystals and gemstones. It will also look at tsunamis and earthquakes and embark on some interesting engineering challenges.

The treasure fun is guaranteed to be both fun and educational, just the thing to amuse young children during the school holidays.

At the end of the two hour treasure hunt, intrepid but exhausted explorers of knowledge will be treated to a sausage sizzle on the Barr Smith lawns at Adelaide University.

Children will need to be accompanied by at least one parent, and bookings must be made in advance here .

As bookings are limited, be sure to book early.
