Resort With Plenty of Room To Move
Canberra is located approximately 2 hours drive from Sydney and 2 hours drive from Thredbo - Kosciusko National Park. It is an ideal weekend or holiday escape, if you are looking for more educational attractions. There is plenty of accommodation to choose from in the CBD district, however, if you like a little more room to move, then consider Rydges Eagle Hawk Resort, which is situated approximately 15 minutes drive from Canberra city and the many attractions the area has to offer.

Rydges Eagle Hawk Resort is set amongst 30 acres of natural landscaped native gardens, with lots of space, bushland and a children's playground.

The resort includes two tennis courts, gym, outdoor swimming pool, sauna, spa, plenty of parking, business centre and conference facilities with breakout rooms as well as 24-hour reception and room service.

Wireless connection is available in all public areas and high speed broadband in every room. If you don't have your own computer, you can utilise the resort's pay-as-you-go workstations.

The resort offers 151 rooms including 19 two bedroom suites and 8 spa suites. All rooms are non-smoking, have split or central air-conditioning, telephone, internet access, tea & coffee making facilities and open directly to the outdoors.

Two Bedroom Canberra Suite
Suitable for corporate visitors or a family of up to four, the suite has a king size bed in the main room and twin single beds in the connecting room. The main room also features a workstation dining table, mini bar and microwave.

Superior Queen Room
Complete with contemporary furniture, a lounge, workstation with executive chair and mini bar. This room is suitable for two people.

Superior Twin Room

The resort offers its guests several dining options:

Wintergarden Restaurant overlooks Canberra winter garden and serves Australian cuisine. It is open for dinner daily from 6pm

Cafe MUNCH serves a full buffet breakfast every morning between 6.30am 9.30am during the week and from 7am 10am on the weekends. All day dining menu is available from 10am to 6pm.

Resort Bar is a relaxed, comfortable bar where guests can enjoy a selection of cold drinks and snacks

The Pizza Bar is located by the pool and serves wood fired pizza. It is available for private functions and events.

The resort is well set up for business travellers as well as families. I found the room to be very comfortable, spacious and the outdoor area ideal for kids, with its playground, lots of green open spaces and of course, the swimming pool. Another advantage of staying at this property over hotels in Canberra CBD was parking, which was near our room. When you travel with kids, there is always plenty of luggage to carry and having the car park so close made things a lot easier.

Canberra has a lot of great places to visit, including:

Questacon Science Museum,
Cockington Green Miniature Village,
Australian War Memorial,
Royal Australian Mint,
the new and old Parliament House,
Commonwealth Park,
National Dinosaur Museum,
National Gallery of Australia,
Black Mountain Tower

to name just a few.
