Love the name. A wise choice, you may say.

Once inside this small cafe, you cannot forget where you are. The owl theme is everywhere. From ceramic owls on your table to many shelves displaying owls.

Owner Lisa said they had been open for about four years. She must be doing something right as while we were enjoying our meal, many of the other customers appeared to be regulars, which is a good recommendation.

Our visit was for brunch. I was pleased to see they offer an all-day breakfast, one of my favourite meals. I was doubly pleased when they allowed me to customise my order. Not liking eggs and baked beans, they subsided larger portions of the other items. How good is that?

My dining partner had her usual scrambled eggs on sourdough toast and bacon. The plate emptied, so she must have liked them.

Both meals were of generous portions and were eagerly consumed.

Barista Bree perfectly made my two cappuccinos.

At one stage, I heard a baby 'owling, but a dummy soon pacified the little one.

For a delicious meal or a barista made coffee, the Rusty Owl is a wise choice.
