Is this Montville's best-kept secret?

Located right behind the main street of Montville is . I agree, the name is not that sexy, but the park itself is stunning.

Every time I enter the park, I close my eyes and just listen to the symphony of birds. I've tried to count the different ones on several occasions but have never succeeded. Their sound fills the air and when you open your eyes you are rewarded with a kaleidoscope of green. The hills, the trees, the ferns and the water plants with the clear blue sky as a backdrop have you wondering which way to look.

A path beckons you to wander into the park, which I do carefully, as the way in is a little steep and slippery after the morning's rain. The track flattens quickly and then winds its way for 600m around three ponds that are almost bursting at the seams. The two biggest ponds are home to lots of different water birds and plants.

Along the way, there are lots of places to sit and relax in the sun or shade as well as covered barbecue areas to picnic beneath.

At the southern end of the park, there is a children's playground which is easily accessible from the pathways.

The cement paths are perfect for scooters and small bikes and easy to push a pram around.

You can enter the park from the driveway next to Amazon Toys and Puzzle Shop or from the carpark at the southern end of town.

Whether you want to work out, go for a stroll or just enjoy a family picnic, is the perfect spot, but don't tell anyone, we don't want our secret to get out!
