Geraldton is situated just over 4. 5 hours north of Perth. It is a great location to get away from the city for the weekend.

On the 5th and 6th July 2014, Geraldton will be hosting the HBF Geraldton Runfest .

The event starts on Saturday at the historical Geraldton Yacht Club located on Marine Terrace with the Junior Runfest at 4pm. Children from ages 3 to 16 can run on part of the IAAF (International Amateur Athletics Federation) accredited course.

The Geraldton Marathon, 10 km run/walk and the 5 km run/walk event will commence on Sunday from the same location.

There will be prize money for the first three places for both male and female for Sunday events, while participants of the junior runfest will receive vouchers.

If there is one reason to head to Geraldton for a weekend away, it would definitely be this one. Geraldton will be buzzing with activity.
