Whether people come to Adelaide to travel, study, or they simply live in this beautiful little city in South Australia, they will, without a doubt, happen to take a stroll down Rundle Mall. And in some cases, it may be part of a routine, when going to work or even do something as simple as grab a cup of coffee. Whatever the reason may be, Rundle Mall has become one of the most iconic 'streets' in Adelaide that offers its visitors with several options of shopping, dining, and entertainment.

Considering how it is one of the busiest spots in Adelaide, Rundle Mall has partnered up with a number of local businesses to bring us some holiday cheer and merriment. The Mall itself boasts of a strong 'community feel' and it has incorporated a number of free events and pop-up workshops, stores, and stations where kids and adults alike can prepare themselves for the festive season that is fast approaching.

This year's festive theme of Rundle Mall encompasses what is called The Festive Forest . The Mall is slowly getting a makeover, where visitors of the Mall will be treated to an enchanted land where Christmas will blend themes from the traditional kind (with Christmas trees, baubles, and banners) to the modern, Australian kind (with the celebration of the festive season in summer).

If you have walked down the Mall in the past week, you will notice that there are red and gold coloured letters that have been set up in a sea of Christmas trees, across 3 locations. The trees have kindly been donated to the Mall by Oxfam , an organisation that provides real Christmas trees to those living in poverty.

Each of these locations spells out JOY, MERRY, or PEACE, and it hasn't taken long for visitors to take photos of themselves or their loved ones (especially the kids, who love sitting within the O in JOY). They may be small and you might not even notice them if you're in a rush, but when you do have a chance, make sure you snap a selfie with the gorgeous letters.

The Mall has also offered two giant 'gift packages' that you can nestle yourself into, have a seat, get some shade from the sunshine, or simply find a space of solitude (with the occasional sharing with strangers). Again laced in colours of red and gold, these are situated on both ends of the Mall (Pulteney Street side and King William Street side).

With a team of 12 people who worked on installing this in 40 hours, there are red and gold themed triangle buntings decorating the tops of Rundle Mall. The buntings flutter as the wind picks up and also reflect the gorgeous sunshine during different times of the day, giving the Mall that extra layer of sparkle. It spans across the majority of the Mall so make sure you look up and take in the beauty that comes with it.

Street art has been scattered around Adelaide and the surrounding suburbs. People flock to obscure locations to capture art that has been put through alleyways, on walls, or even on a plaque that has been specifically designed to satisfy your selfie needs. Fortunately, we have world-famous artist Kelsey Montague present her gorgeous mural of wings, which has been set up at halfway point of the Mall. Grab a friend or 5, or get a selfie with wings growing out of you - find #WhatLiftsYouUp.

There is no better way to celebrate Friday than with some after work drinks, and Rundle Mall has brought further merriment and joy by announcing that The Propaganda Club will be having their own pop-up bar to give new form to the hashtag #FriYAY. Operating on Fridays starting November 18, make sure you stop by and treat yourself to a Christmas cocktail which is oh so strong but also subtly sweet, in addition to having cocktail tastings and social times with colleagues, friends, and / or family.

While we are only in the beginning stages of bringing festivity to the Mall, there are talks of a Mighty Mighty Christmas Cafe, where you can enjoy a cuppa and a scoop of gelato from the Christmas Marble Hill Cherry Gelati. There will also be a Festive Workshop running on weekends (November 26 - December 18), where kids can bring their inner artist to life through DIY projects such as cookies, cards, wreaths, and much more. Keva from Sucre Patisserie will be joining in, where she will be able to show kids how she makes her delicious gingerbread man cookies.

All programs that are lined up for Christmas In The Mall are now live on the Rundle Mall website - click here to get the whole scoop and make your way to the Mall for fun, interactive activities with friends and family! Special thanks to PPR Australia and Rundle Mall for organizing and hosting this event and including us as part of the celebrations!
