Remember the old kombi van? Well, you can see one of the biggest collection of kombi vans at the Run to the Sun VW Show.
There will be a variety of kombi vans, buggies, classic beetles, modern Volkswagens and more at the Gold Coast's biggest VW show. And as the third year in a row that this show has been running, there will be plenty to see and do besides checking out VWs, big and small. The Mudgeeraba Rural Fire Brigade will be providing hamburgers, sausages, and cold drinks, and there will be a variety of other food on offer as well from various local food outlets at the show. There will also be a range of entertainment, including live music, kombi painting, jumping castles and toy VW races for the kids (so don't forget to bring them along), face painting, a good old-fashioned kombi kram, and much more.
For almost a full day, you will be able to actually enjoy having a kombi van, or at least enjoy viewing the large range of vans, beetles and modern VWs. All entertainment is free for the day, making the day out that much more enjoyable. And if you happen to be travelling to the Gold Coast anyway for the school holidays, this is a great day event you can pop in for on your holiday. For a full program list, please visit the website. This year's event is set to be as big as ever, so to have your kombi or VW feature at Run to the Sun 2011, or to check out the latest VWs and the classic kombis, don't forget to head to this special event. And the Run to the Sun is for a good cause as well, and won't hurt your back pocket.
Run to the Sun is run by the Kombi Club, and this year money raised will also go to Guide Dogs Queensland, so this is a great reason to head along to this once a year event. As always, the Kombi Club try to get as many VW owners (and their cars) to show up to the Run to the Sun event. If you have a VW and are planning to attend, it's a good idea to fill out the registration form beforehand so that you can hand it in to the rego desk on the day.
Please visit the website to download the rego form (this can be used as a template for next year's Run to the Sun as well). Also at this year's event, don't forget to check out the trade stalls and swap-meet tables, as well as getting to meet fellow kombi comrades and fellow VW owners. You can even purchase your very own Run to the Sun official t-shirts. You can do this by ordering online or buying on the day (please note that as this is a popular event; it is best to order early to avoid disappointment).
So for an event the whole family will enjoy, grab your family and friends, fill up the kombi and head to Run to the Sun 2011. Tickets are just $5 per adult, with children free (if accompanied by an adult). For more information, please visit the website.
