I write for Weekend Notes and I take photographs, usually sunsets and sunrises. Occasionally I include my photos in my articles. I like to promote Geelong, and activities around Geelong.
Event:
Run Geelong is being held on Sunday 22nd November 2015. It is a fun filled day with all proceeds from registration fees going towards the redevelopment of the Maternity Day Unit at University Hospital Geelong.

Different Runs / Walks / Prices

The Market Square 12 kilometre run costs $45.00 to enter. There is the Cotton On Body 6 kilometre run, The Edge Financial Partners 6 kilometre family walk, there are 2 different runs for youth - a 12 kilometre run and a 6 kilometre run (youth are young people aged from 13 to 18 years of age). There is the Cotton On Kids 1 kilometre run - for children aged 4 to 12. There are also categories for Juniors and Toddlers. If you cannot make it on the day you can even nominate a Virtual Runner to run for you.

If you want to register as a Virtual Runner you can nominate a friend or family member to run for you, or you can nominate one of the race ambassadors to do the event for you. You will still receive a free event t-shirt and you will be kept up to date on all the news of the event. Your nominated runner will receive a shoelace to show that they are running for a virtual runner. So if you can't make it you can still be involved and contribute to a wonderful community event.

Prices for all the events and ages can be accessed here. You can register for Run Geelong 2015 here.

The finish line for all of the events is at Eastern Park Circiut, east of the end of Malop Street.

Participants are encouraged to keep moving forward past the finish line, to allow other participants to cross the line safely. Once you pass under the finishing arch you can enter the competitors enclosure, to catch your breath, then you need to exit the competitors enclosure to allow space for participants coming in behind you.

Once you have finished your event there will be water stations and fruit stations for participants. There is plenty of room on the oval located between Eastern Park Circuit and Geelong High School for families and friends to join their participating family member.

How this fund raiser will assist the University Hospital Geelong

Cotton On Run Geelong is presented by GMHBA health insurance. This year all the funds raised from the Cotton On Run Geelong fund raiser will support the redevelopment of the Maternity Day Assessment Unit at Barwon Health's University Hospital Geelong.

This project also includes redesigning the Baxter Maternity Services entrance and the main reception and waiting area.

Redeveloping the current service will create a more spacious environment to welcome families into Baxter Maternity Services and the Maternity Day Assessment Unit.
