Gear up for Run for Hope - Melbourne's 5km run/walk and 10km run around the Maribyrnong River, starting and finishing in Coulson Gardens , Chifley Drive, Maribyrnong on Sunday 18 February 2018. Put on your running shoes and your brightest pink outfit and come along to support a great cause. This fundraiser is for worthy charities and 100% of your fees will go to Pink Hope , a charity for women and families with an increased risk of breast and ovarian cancer, and beyondblue , who provide information and support to help everyone achieve their best possible mental health.

Register HERE . The fun run starts at 9.30am and all activities finish at 12.30pm. Registration costs range from $20 (children 5-16yrs) to $100 (family up to 2 adults & 4 children 5-16yrs), with $50 registrations on the day or $45 prior. There is a $5 discount for local residents in the Maribyrnong City Council area. Please email [email protected] for the discount code. Walkers and prams are welcome in the 5km event. Once registered, your run bib will be available for collection on the day between 8.30am - 9.10am. While the event will take place if raining, if weather conditions are deemed dangerous on the day, the event will be cancelled and your entry fee will become a donation to Pink Hope.

On the day, the 5km and 10km start time is 9.30am with prizes and raffle draw at 10.45am. Entertainment begins at 11am and finishes at 12pm. There's lots of fun to be had for the kids with a jumping castle and face painting, along with a sausage sizzle, massage and reflexology, DJ, and Pink Hope merchandise on the day. There'll be raffles going with great prizes, health information and some very important post race stretch happening.

Run for Hope started in 2012 and was founded by Sarah Powell (a volunteer and ambassador for Pink Hope) and and her personal trainer Alannagh Pooley from FullFitment Personal Training . Sarah herself was diagnosed with breast cancer at just 29 years old. They both wanted to help raise awareness and much needed funds for Pink Hope. In 2017 they decided they would also like the event to raise money for beyondblue& #8203 ; and so begins the new partnership in 2018. Both such worthy causes, your full support and help would be well utilised. If you can't make it on the day, your donations would be appreciated.
