Organic, biodynamic, feel good food, cooked with love
Cafe with a heart and soul!

Tucked away behind the North Ringwood shops is a modest little cafe that you may have mistaken as a burger joint, however behind the facade you will find a beautifully decorated little cafe with a true heart and soul.

Rubiki has recently opened in North Ringwood and promises great food and wherever possible, it is organically and bio dynamically sourced. Some of their products are even available for take home sales, including a lovely sugar which we tried as it was placed on our table and as we loved it so much, we just had to buy a packet of to take home.

The sugar is a natural organic cane sugar that is relatively unrefined, making it appear more like a caramel treat than sugar. You only need to use a little bit and it gives things such a lovely flavour, there's no going back to table sugar

Food is fresh and beautifully prepared, cooked and presented. For afternoon tea we had a side serve of broccolini with sautéed flaked almonds and a side serving of polenta chips with homemade relish. All was beautifully presented and it seems everything they do is created with love and great style.

For drinks, there is a lovely selection of teas and coffee with biodynamic milk along with wonderful milkshakes and fresh fruit juices.

For those wanting healthy try the Super Green Salad - with wilted kale, blanched broccolini, ancient grains & pomegranate seeds or for the decadent at heart, try the grain-fed Steak Sandwich, served with Moroccan tomato chutney, onion jam & melted Gruyere cheese or perhaps the Peking Duck crepe, with snow pea sprouts & poached rhubarb & anise gel.

Plenty of options for vegetarians too.

Coffee is from Melbourne boutique bean roasters Padre Coffee, who are famous for their ethically sourced and produced coffee. Tea lovers will delight in the range of teas available.

Near the counter is a small selection of lovely pastries that change daily.

Rubiki is also extremely kid friendly. If you are looking for a place to have a lovely little snack after school, this would fit the bill perfectly.

As they are located behind the North Ringwood shops, there is plenty of parking.

They open at certain times for dinner, as well as all day breakfast lunch and snacks

Have you been to Rubiki? If so we would love to hear about the dishes you selected and your experiences, please use the comments section to share your thoughts with us.

When you pop in remember to say you read about it on WeekendNotes.
