It's more than 50 years since The Beatles released their first album Please Please Me and their song I Want To Hold Your Hand shot them to fame and went to number one on the music charts.

Even though John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr went their own musical ways in 1970 their music has lasted through the generations and is as recognisable now as it was 50 years ago.

Many artists have covered Beatles songs exploring new directions for the music created by Lennon and McCartney.

Now, 12-piece band The Milford Street Shakers is creating covers of the cover songs, putting their own spin on the songs that generations have come to know and love.

They have created a tribute show, Rubber Souled, for the 2018 Summerset Arts Festival at Scarborough on Saturday February 3 at 6pm. The performance will be at Sunset Veranda at Brighton Reserve, Scarborough.

Fans will be familiar with the work of The Milford Street Shakers for their show Beyond Hitsville which they will also be performing at Summerset in 2018 that features American Motown music of the 1960s.

Band leader Dom D'Leno says Rubber Souled will appeal to both diehard Beatles fans and younger generations who want to understand why The Beatles were such an iconic group.

Featuring hits like I Want to Hold Your Hand, Eleanor Rigby and Hey Jude covered by the likes of Al Green, Aretha Franklin and Wilson Pickett, Dom says the show will have audiences up singing and dancing.

The band's line-up includes the impressive voice of Lee Morunga on lead vocals, who spent 10 years touring Australia and Europe for Disney's The Lion King.

The horn section includes one of Perth's busiest session musicians, Robert Bresland, on trumpet, Glyn MacDonald on trombone and Mark Sprogowski on baritone sax.

Other members include James Vinciullo on bass, Dominic D'Leno on drums, Imogen Thomson on percussion, Kallan Phillips on guitar and Austin Salisbury on keys.

The City of Stirling's Summerset Arts Festival will be celebrating its 10th year in 2018 with more than 30,000 people expected to attend more than 50 events around the city.
