RTRFM 92.1 will be staging their Neon Picnic again, and this will be a family friendly fun day and outdoor broadcast in the iconic Hyde Park.

This will be a pre-cursor to RTRFM's much loved [i]"In The Pines Music Festival"[/i], which returned last year when the radio station celebrated 40 years of broadcasting in Perth!

It is now in its 41st year and the Neon Picnic returns as radio comes live to you on Saturday 17th March, 2018 in the Hyde Park Amphitheatre, from 11.00 am to 7.00 pm.

You could spend the day watching and listening to the line-up that is planned for this event, and the event is FREE.

The RTRFM presenters will be playing you many of their favourite tunes live and direct. You can listen to this at this all day event and chill out on the grass of this wonderful park.

For the children, they will have a bouncy castle, there will be arts and crafts available and hula hoop workshops.

For the parents/adults, there will be a hooping magician, Young Hoops, and parents will be able to relax in the licensed bar brought to you by Feral Brewing Company, The Hills Cider Company and Undertow Wines.

For those who do not drink, there will be coffee, as well as food from Meat Candy, Pockets Falafel and Double Shotz.

And best of all, entry is FREE and you can therefore come and go as often as you like. This is also a dog-friendly event, so bring your fur babies, as long as you keep them on a leash at all times.

You could also bring a picnic and a rug and chill out on the green grass, whilst enjoying the local music and Perth's best radio station live.

You will be able to hear the amazing live sets from Hot Paprika, who will entertain you with the finest Hungarian gypsy music, as well as the modern pop sounds of newcomers, Almond Soy, and the magical rhythms of Intercontinental Sounds.



There will be a live broadcast of Global Rhythm Pot, Homegrown, Drastic on Plastic and Jamdown Vershun.

This group perform everything from folk music to the latest dance tracks. From Afro-beat to Latin swing, from Bollywood to Baltic disco and French hip-hop, the tunes have an exotic sound.



Then in the afternoon, you will be entertained by pop-folk pioneer, Helen Shanahan, the legendary Felicity Groom, and THE U-NITES.



Neon Picnic is a family-friendly event with activities for children all day long and a licensed bar in the park.



The City of Vincent, AO Lets Go Print and Distribution, MinuteMan Press Balcatta, Feral Brewing Company, The Hills Cider Company and Stage Left Design are all involved in this picnic.

[b]About Hyde Park[/b]
Hyde Park is a well-established park bounded by Vincent, Glendower, Throssell and William Streets. It has a large lake with water birds on it always and there are often baby birds.

Hyde Park is an ideal location for weddings, birthdays, picnics, BBQs or simply walking.
