Everybody knows what a wonderful job the staff and volunteers do at the RSPCA caring for stray, abandoned and unwanted animals. Protecting animals rights, treating them humanly and giving them not just a second chance at life, but giving them the chance to thrive.
They do this through the help of ordinary everyday people making donations, raising funds, attending the
Million Paws Walk on the 19th of May, or the RSPCA
Cup Cake Day and many other fundraising events.
At Peninsula RSPCA they re-home more than 5,956 animals annually, like Mr December in the 2013
RSPCA calendar (on sale for only $5) affectionately known as Zeppo, who I had the pleasure of meeting at the RSPCA shop in Mornington (he and Erin volunteer each Wednesday morning in the shop); Zeppo was adopted by Erin 6 years ago from the Peninsula shelter. They have a wonderful relationship, all thanks to the RSPCA.
If you are looking for an animal, the RSPCA Peninsula shelter would be a great place to start your search.T here are many animals currently listed, including Oliver the rabbit, Mew the short haired cat, Freddie the guinea and Marley the Staffordshire terrier.
I can personally recommend the veterinary clinic on site at Pearcedale, as Tinkerbell has been a patient there several times and they are always professional, passionate and dedicated to all animals in the surgery.
At Peninsula RSPCA they have many check lists in place before animals are offered for adoption. You will find paperwork that includes information on the breed, age, temperament, history (if available) and the type of home they would be suitable for.
Cost for adoption is $320 for a puppy, $290 for a dog, senior dogs (7 and over) have no adoption fee.
Kittens are $140 each or 2 kittens for $180 and cats are $85
If you would like to adopt a pet, donate time or money, then the
RSPCA Peninsula would love to hear from you.
