Queen Polly Jean Purrypants

"Hi, I'm Queen Polly Jean Purrypants, and my human adopted me from the RSPCA. I'm eleven years old and was overlooked by people for a few months before she found me, and I'm so glad she did. Did you know every year about 250,000 unwanted companion animals in Australia are euthanised for want of funds, facilities and homes?"

"Anyway, we've been living together for just over a year now and I am living the life of luxury. But if you can't adopt a fur baby like me from the RSPCA and give them the life of luxury, you can still help out animals in need by baking and selling treats for RSPCA Cupcake Day. I'll let my human tell you more..."

Cupcake Day for the RSPCA is back again this year on August 17th, when intrepid bakers everywhere will be selling their treats to raise money for this worthy cause.

Of course it's lots of fun to bake and decorate any kind of cupcake or baked treat, but why not make yours animal themed this year? Here are five ideas for baked goodies that really fit the theme.

4. Bunny Rabbits

Degree of difficulty: Advanced
Use: choc bits, white marshmallows, pink sprinkles, pink and white mini marshmallows, black writing icing for whiskers, Tic Tacs for teeth against white icing

unicorn, poop, cookies, rspca, cupcake, day, charity
5. Unicorn Poop Cookies

Not technically a cupcake but by golly these sell like hot cakes!
Degree of difficulty: Hard
Use: 7 colours of cookie dough, twist and form into poop shapes and dip into sprinkles, stars, cachous and spray with silver edible spray
I made: these are made with plain flavoured sugar cookie dough

Now you're all inspired, all you need to do is register as a baker with RSPCA to get started! Good luck, and happy baking.
