A retired business owner, my passions are cooking, photography and eating. I use all three of these when I write for recipeyum.com.au which is on HubGarden
If you are a collector, you do not want to miss this
Many of us collect items and have enormous fun and get a buzz out of finding these items at fairs and markets. I collect several things and although my collections are quite large, I am still always on the lookout for that unusual item that I have not seen before or that I have been looking for for years.
A very small part of my salt and pepper collection
The Rozelle Collectors Market is possibly Sydney's favourite outdoor second-hand market, where you can find bric-a-brac and antique items.
The majority of the stallholders at these markets have been selling their pre-loved goods to an ever-expanding market in the grounds of the Rozelle Public School (663 Darling Street) for more than 20 years now. The Rozelle Markets have now gained a reputation as a fantastic place to wander around looking for antique items as well as catching up with friends for a meal and most importantly, finding that special and unique item!
The open-air markets operate every Saturday and Sunday, all year round and have a charming outdoor setting right next to the historical buildings of the Rozelle Public School. These markets often get listed as a must-do market experience for Sydneysiders and tourists coming from interstate and overseas.
Rozelle is quite easy to get to, no matter where you live. Getting parking space near these popular Sydney markets can, however, be challenging on weekends, so it is recommended that you take public transport. You can get there from either side of Sydney via train or bus and you can find out more at this link.
Don't miss out on these markets as they have a reputation for being one of the best vintage markets Sydney has to offer!
