Wattamolla, right in the heart of the Royal National Park, is magnificently beautiful with its combination of lagoon and rugged cliffs. This sublime location can be quite busy during the summer months but is well worth the visit.
The cliffs are a popular jumping-spot for brave individuals looking for a thrill. It was funny to see them lined up along the edge, egging each other on until one, plucked up enough courage to take the leap and test the water. It is not advisable however; the water is at variable depths.

If that doesn't sound like your ideal thrill, take a stroll to the beach which on one side faces the open ocean and the other, the freshwater lagoon.
Wattamolla is around 15 minutes drive from the highway.
Another beautiful spot is Jibbon Beach via Bundeena, which is great for swimming and snorkelling. The large sand strip spans around in a huge curve, providing plenty of quiet spots for sunbathing. Maybe take a walk and see if you can spot any of the aboriginal rock carvings, a reminder of what the area must have been like, many years ago.
