Agricultural and Sideshow Spectacular
The Royal Melbourne Show has been bringing the country to the city for 162 years allowing visitors to interact with hundreds of farm animals, taste their way around the Winning Tastes Pavilion featuring some of Melbourne's best eateries and be entertained all day with a range of all-inclusive and fun activities & attractions.

Key among those activities & attractions are rides, arts, craft & cookery and a range of themed pavilions showcasing wood chopping, livestock, show-bags, dogs, the animal farmyard and the immensely popular animal nursery.
And there'll be thrills galore with an exciting range of carnival rides suitable for people of all ages.

The Main Arena will come alive with the Horses in Action Program with more than 2500 entries featuring everything from exciting Showjumping to Turn Out events including the historic Garryowen, majestic Clydesdales and gymkhana events.
The arena will also be the scene of a packed schedule of live music, fireworks, spectacular stunts and unique performances.
The Royal Melbourne Show is a great opportunity for kids to get up close and personal with their favourite farm animals in The Farmhouse and Animal Farmyard or meet and greet baby animals in the Animal Nursery.

And 'Sideshow Alley' is definitely a major attraction and fun for visitors of all ages.
Tickets for this year's show will be available for purchase at the Gate from 9 AM – 8 PM daily but if you pre-book your tickets online before September 21st you'll be rewarded with savings of up to 20%.
General Admission at the gate costs Adult $40, Child (5-14 yrs $20, Concession* $26, Family A (2 Adults, 2 Children) $80 and Family B (1 Adult, 3 Children) $75. Children 4 years and under are Free.
After 5 PM Super Saver costs Adult & Concession* $20, Children $10.
Concession includes Students, Students of Agriculture, Pensioners, Companion Card Holders and Health Card Holders (with valid ID).

Getting to the Royal Melbourne Show is simple.
Public transport is the best way of getting to Melbourne Showgrounds, particularly travelling by train. Visit www.ptv.vic.gov.au or phone Public Transport Victoria on 1800 800 007 to plan your journey.
Go by train
Depart Flinders Street Station (generally platforms 8/9) stopping at Southern Cross Station (generally platform 14) and North Melbourne (generally platform 6). Travel time is approximately 15 minutes with trains running to the Showgrounds every 10 to 20 minutes. The first train will depart Flinders Street at 9.10 AM and the last will depart the Showgrounds at 10.30 PM.
Catch the tram
Catch Tram number 57 from the corner of Flinders & Elizabeth streets to Melbourne Showgrounds on Epsom Road (stop 32). Travel time is approximately 25 minutes.
Jump on a bus
You can catch the 404 service from Footscray to Moonee Ponds- to Ascot Vale Road/ Epsom Road or the 472 service from Williamstown to Moonee Ponds- to Langs Road/ Epsom Road.
Whichever way you choose, make sure you visit Public Transport Victoria's journey planner at www.ptv.vic.gov.au to plan your trip. Enter your origin address, set your destination as a landmark and enter Melbourne Showgrounds. Or call 1800 800 007.
If you prefer to drive, parking during the Royal Melbourne Show is available at Flemington Racecourse for $25 a day.
Entry to the car park is via Epsom Rd or Smithfield Rd, with access to the Show via the rail underpass. The Epsom Rd entrance is open from 7 AM-11 PM and the Smithfield Rd entrance is open from 8 AM-12 AM.
