One way to enjoy the Sarawak River is via a cruise. Departing from Kuching Waterfront,
Royal Kuching Cruise plies downstream to TYT House before making a turn towards City Mosque upstream. You'll see various landmarks including Astana, Sarawak's State Legislative Complex, Fort Margherita, Darul Hana Bridge, Malaysia's tallest flagpole and more. A commentary is provided so you don't miss a thing.

The vessel has two decks - lower and upper - accommodating just over a hundred passengers each. Both are spacious and offer great views. A bar is available onboard if you'd like to purchase snacks and drinks. For me, the layer cake and cordial that came with my ticket were more than sufficient.
Layer cake and cordial
We had smooth sailing throughout the voyage. The weather was perfect, and I enjoyed the scenery, especially at sunset. While onboard, we were also treated to a soulful sape (traditional lute instrument) performance as well as five sets of cultural dance performances.
Sape performance
The cruise departs every day at 5:30pm and sails for approximately 90 minutes. Tickets are RM70 per adult and RM35 per child. Bookings can be made online via their
website . Walk-ins are accepted subject to availability. We were fortunate to get our tickets, but I'd recommend pre-booking just in case.
