This is a show that is well worth attending
The Royal Geelong Show 2019 will be on from the 17th October to 20th October 2019, 9.00 am to 5.00 pm at Royal Geelong Show Geelong Showgrounds, 79 Breakwater Road, Geelong. Tickets will cost from $20 for adults.

And now about the show! The show is the region's largest 4 day show and brings the country right to the city.

The event is just packed full of the following:

Blue Ribbon Competitions
Vintage Machinery Displays
Live Entertainment
Nightly Arena Entertainment
Harry's Farmyard, where the children can get up close and personal with the animals
Thrill seeker rides
Great show bags
And much more

More items/activities include the popular woodchop competitions which are going to be back again in 2019. These will be on Saturday and Sunday of the show.

Glad to be back again this year is Stewart Bryant, who was a real hit last year.

Being the largest regional show in the state, the Royal Geelong Show 2019 offers a great range of agricultural displays and activities for the whole family. There are great spectator competitions and displays which will regularly take place on the main arena.

Experience the excitement, the thrills and that entertainment on offer at the biggest show in country Victoria. There will be a display of fireworks on Friday and Saturday nights and once again, the return of monster trucks!

Over the last few years, some of the more unusual animals have been seen at the Royal Geelong Show. These include goats, alpacas, miniature horses, ferrets and even the rats.

The northwestern corner of the showground is the place for the dogs, where many breeds fight out to win an award. The poultry shed is always a busy, loud experience, where you will find everything that "chirps, clucks, quacks and gobbles". There are chickens, geese, ducks, and giant turkeys and this pavilion is one that the young people enjoy.

The animal nursery is also a favourite, where there are dozens of types of baby animals, as well as their mothers, romp around looking after their babies.

Art and crafts and tasty cooking is also a popular display for everyone. The show is also home to a huge trade expo where many of the town's businesses show their newest products.

The huge grand arena is home to competition and entertainment all through the day. You will see horse events, tractor pulls, the grand parade, precision driving and stunt teams. You can spend some many hours of enjoyment by just sitting in the grandstand watching on.

The western side of the show grounds is home to the carnival, show bags and the amazing rides. Each year they get more exotic and more exciting and certainly stomach-churning. The area is a huge hit with the youth on Friday and Saturday nights during the show.

The showgrounds are also home to an amazing historic collection of steam machinery. As well as regular rallies throughout the year, the Geelong Show is a fantastic chance for the machines to be started up and amaze the huge crowds with their bright metal machines.

At dusk time, the huge carnival rides glow with their light shows and the traditional fireworks display attracts thousands of spectators, capping off a wonderful display.

Of course, no trip home is complete without a scattering of show bags and there is such a choice, from the Bertie Beetle Chocolate bag to the latest superhero or TV star. It is difficult to just pick one or two, or even three or four here!

Some of the competitions at the show include:

Stud Sheep
Beef Cattle
Beef Carcase
Dairy Cattle
Dairy Goats
Mini Goats
Prime Lamb
Fodder & Pasture

Each family pass covers two adults and up to three children (aged 8-15 years). Children 7 and under are FREE.

Come join us for four days of fun this month and you can check out the times and more at their Facebook page.

The grounds can be easily accessed either by car, bus or taxi. To avoid the traffic and parking hassles at the show, we suggest that you take public transport. If going by car, there is parking available in the Traffic Safety Centre, opposite Gate 3 (Breakwater Road) and opposite Gate 1 in the Western Carpark.
