I had birthday lunch today at the historic and charming Royal Cricketer's Arms Pub in a unique and interesting setting overlooking bushland at Prospect.



The interior remains much as it was back in the 1880's when it was first licensed, which for history buffs is a feast for the eyes. A warm welcome awaits visitors, with the pub serving lunch and dinner with regular specials. The courtyard out back is a delightful setting for groups, with BBQ-your-own as well as the regular menu. There is also music on Saturday and Sunday nights and trivia for lots of fun and laughs.

A visit there is a relaxing escape, as the ambience gives a feeling of being worlds way from suburbia. They have a great selection of craft beers and wines to enjoy. The food on offer is a varied version of the usual pub fare, with a twist to tempt your taste buds. I had the pumpkin feta salad and it was yummy.

Parking is not an issue and groups are welcome. It's a popular spot to celebrate a special event and a great place to enjoy a lazy lunch or occasion, especially to experience a time gone by.
