In 2014 the Royal Adelaide Show is celebrating its 175th Birthday!

And, for the first time in those 175 years, the Royal Show will now cover 2 full weekends!

The Royal Adelaide Show is South Australia's biggest annual event and is run by the Royal Agricultural and Horticultural Society of South Australia.

The Show is 2 weeks of full-on fun and excitement for the whole family.

There are food and wine tastings, entertainment with bands and performing artists, exhibitions and displays, fashion parades, competitions, showbags, animals (livestock and pets); farmyard nursery, sideshows, carnival rides, pig racing, wood chopping, dog and cat judging and much, much more; more than I can list here.

Some of the new attractions this year include:
Tinker Tailor Fashion Maker – a magical journey through 175 years of fashion'
Jaguar Classic Car Display
Heritage Tractor Trail and
the Competitive Sections; each celebrating the birthday year with a difference!

And, on Saturday the 13th September, you can be part of a Guinness World Record attempt too. Hopefully the existing world record of 5200 playing the Angklung will be smashed by Adelaide show-goers!

An Angklung is a traditional Indonesian instrument - there will be 10,000 of them available to play. If you want to be part of the World Record attempt, you can register here or just turn up from 6pm.
