Rowan Atkinson Tribute Show (RATS)

Rowan Atkinson is without doubt a living legend - with the successful Not the Nine O'Clock News, alongside Pamela Stephenson, Griff Rhys Jones and Mel Smith, The Blackadder series, which Atkinson co-wrote with Richard Curtis and Ben Elton and perhaps his most famous character, the hapless Mr. Bean, Atkinson has been entertaining audiences for over three decades. And whilst Atkinson is still active, most recently appearing at the London 2012 Opening Ceremony as Mr. Bean and last year's Johnny English Reborn, it seems the comedian is sadly unlikely to return to stand up comedy any time soon. But all is not lost. If you are a fan Atkinson's classic sketches - then you will not want to miss the current season of the Rowan Atkinson Tribute Show.

The Rowan Atkinson Tribute Show, starring Gabriel McCarthy and Valentino Arico, will be performed once a week in the beautiful and intimate Bordello Theatre at Kings Cross Hotel.* The production will consist of 13 classic sketches from the renowned Rowan Atkinson in Review production, which was staged at the Globe and Shaftesbury Theatres in London's West End, on Broadway and in Boston between 1981 and 1991.

All the favourites will be performed - the absurd 'Fatal Beatings', the hilarious 'Pink Tights', the masterful 'Invisible Drum Kit' and 'It Started With A Sneeze' - a sketch which later featured in the Mr Bean television series. Directed by Stephen Carnell, The Rowan Atkinson Tribute Show allows local audiences the unique chance to experience Atkinson's trademark physical comedy and deadpan delivery live on stage.

Critics are already applauding the production, which began in late September - Leigh Livingstone of Alternative Media proclaimed:

"Gabriel McCarthy nails the physicality and elastic facial expressions of Atkinson's trademark style and it's impossible not to laugh out loud when he inhabits the various eccentric characters."

Running until November 28th, 2012, The Rowan Atkinson Tribute Show is a quality production which pays tribute to Atkinson's timeless humour.

Tickets are priced at $25 and bookings can be made by visiting Eventbrite .

* As the Kings Cross Hotel is a licensed venue, under 18s are not allowed entry.
