An Island-wide fiesta jam-packed with FREE entertainment

Rottnest Island Carnivale is back and bigger and better with a jam-packed program of family-friendly events and wicked Halloween-themed night time festivities!

Returning for its fourth year on beautiful Rottnest Island on Saturday 28th October 2017 and proudly supporting Telethon (which is celebrating its 50th anniversary), Carnivale is an island-wide fiesta with FREE entertainment and activities for all the family to enjoy.

This year's event is expected to attract more than 6,500 people as Carnivale transforms the island for a freakishly fine day and a spooky evening full of mouth-watering food, dancing, activities and entertainment!

Rottnest Island Authority's Acting CEO, Michelle Reynolds said Carnivale is a fantastic day to experience everything Rottnest Island has to offer.

"Come over with your family and friends for an exciting celebration with loads of free entertainment and activities, including a scary movie marathon, live performances and mouth-watering Halloween themed food," she said.

  • Carnivale By Day - A spectacular day of fun for families

From 10am to 4pm, event zones dotted around the Island will showcase live music, sustainable food theatre performances, face painters, a WA Birds of Prey display, a live circus and much more.

Challenge your friends to the Dunk Tank Challenge or in the Gladiator Arena, or take part in the ultimate treasure hunt where you may spot beautiful mermaids, dazzling fairies and devious pirates!

Ride the Island's historic Captain Hussey Train at a discounted price or travel between event zones on the Rottnest Tractor Train.

  • Carnivale By Night - A fine evening of food and Halloween-themed entertainment

As night falls, things will go bump in the night on Rottnest Island! From 5pm, put on your spookiest outfit and join a Trick or Treat tour or enjoy Halloween face painting.

Make sure to enter the "best-dressed" competition (there will be great prizes up for grabs) and settle in for an awesome scary movie marathon for kids and adults alike. Various venues throughout the Island will also be hosting festivities for patrons to devour delicious culinary creations or dance the night away.
