A Sunday morning market which is undercover
Nedlands Swap Meet is one that has been there for many, many years.
I remember going there in the height of my collecting days and finding many a treasure. It is not a really huge market by Perth standards, however, it covers the underground car park of the shopping centre.
It is made up of individuals and some dealers and is a very casual market with much of the goods on a blanket on the ground. They often have things of interest including a lot of bric-a-brac, books and much more.
I used to find it was always a great kick when I found a treasure that I loved at this market and would go home feeling happy with my purchases!
Nedlands Swapmart is, therefore, an undercover carpark, so the weather does not affect this market as it does some of the other ones in Perth. It can get cold there if you go really early, so make sure you rug up and are warm enough.
It is on every Sunday morning from 7.00 am to 12 noon at the Broadway Fair Shopping Centre, Broadway, Nedlands. Entry is free to buyers and stallholders pay just $5 for a bay. You may also want to consider going there to sell some of the superfluous goods that you have sitting around at home.
Some of the items that are regularly sold there include plant stalls, household items, books, collectables and much more.
All proceeds from this market go towards funding the Rotary charitable projects. This Rotary club supports the local community and global projects.
Why not go to this market and check it out and at the same time, grab a bargain. There is also plenty of coffee places around this area, where you could have breakfast or just a steaming hot coffee on a cold winter's morning!
They are also always looking for donations for their own stall, so if you have anything that is clean and presentable and you no longer use it, please donate it to them. You can phone the Rotary Club of West Perth or call Geoff Simpson on 0408 925 432.
