Bag a Bargain or Two at This Great Community Event
Everyone loves to bag a bargain, and for generations of Australians garage sales have been a popular place to trawl for treasures amongst our neighbours' cast off possessions. Coming up shortly, on Sunday August 9th, the Rotary Club of Balcatta is holding one such event, titled 'Trash to Treasure' – a great way to pick up some bargains while helping several very worthy causes.

Like all garage sales, 'Trash to Treasure' will be a top spot to find all sorts of miscellaneous pre-loved goodies. There will be clothes, home-wares, books, small furniture, bric a brac, toys, guitars, music, cakes, plants and cuttings, electronics and heaps of other great stuff – all available at a fraction of their price, if they were brand new.
As is the case with all the other great work the Rotary Club of Balcatta does, 'Trash to Treasure' is aiming to generate much-needed funds for the club so they can continue to financially support several worthwhile causes, both local and further afield. These include sponsorship at local schools, City of Stirling Sports Star Awards and the Stirling Women's Refuge. In addition, there are several international projects that the club supports such as Shelterbox, Interplast and the sponsorship of school children in Bali. Read more about the Shelterbox project on this website.
In a nutshell, whether you're a veteran bargain hunter or not, the Rotary Club of Balcatta's 'Trash to Treasure' garage sale is a great way to while away a Sunday morning – and from what I've heard, there are goodies galore that you can purchase, all which will support the great work that the club is doing. The sale will take place at 8 Landsborough Way in Padbury, and begin at 8.30am. To find out more, go to the Rotary Club of Balcatta's website.
