Rotary WA's
Climb for a Smile is being held on
Sunday 13th September.
This fundraiser is designed so that you can have fun AND help fantastic, worthy causes, at the same time.
It's easy to get involved
Details on how to participate can be found
here .
You can either make up a team or register individually to participate in the climb. Once you've signed up just create a fundraising page, set your goal target and nominate which cause you would like to raise funds for. Then spread the word and invite everyone you know to support you and your worthy cause.
Of course if you are are not up for the climb, you can sponsor someone else to contribute to the incredible causes.
The
Climb for a Smile fundraising event takes place at 108 St Georges Terrace, Perth (The former Bankwest tower). Moderate fitness is required but don't worry, there are two rest floors with seats and water. Fitness First representatives will be there to assist you to stretch and limber up.
If the reward of raising funds for a worthy cause is not enough, the bonus at the end of the climb will be the spectacular view. The climb finishes on the floor of Alan Bond's old office, so you'll get to appreciate a little history and goggling as well.
Previous climbs have been incredibly successful, raising in excess of $200,000 for Rotary causes. This year the funds raised will support well deserving beneficiaries including:
Teen Challenge A WA youth drug and alcohol rehabilitation and training program.
Rotary for Melanoma Research supporting research into the early detection and diagnosis of melanoma skin cancer,
Rotary's Interplast Program funding operations by volunteer medical teams that will change a child's life forever, by providing cleft palate, burns and other remedial surgery in third world countries.
Rotary's End Polio Now Program working on an international mission to eradicate polio.
Mukti mission bringing hope to destitute women and children in India.
Romac providing life saving and dignity restoring medical treatment for children from developing countries.
Wheels for Hope assisting WA families with disabilities to be more mobile.
Cancer Support WA offering a range of support to people with cancer.
Entrants will receive a race bag and a free drink and there will be prizes for all the categories of entrants and the leading fundraisers totalling approximately $1500.
Remember- Smile and the world smiles with you.
So register yourself for the climb or grab a group of friends or work mates and make up a team.
Otherwise open your wallet and sponsor a climber to make a difference in the work of these incredibly worthy causes supported by this year's Climb for a Smile.
